Welcome to Spartan Archive, the repository for Michigan State University's born-digital institutional administrative records and other electronic records of historical value. Spartan Archive makes the records accessible to the university community and the public through a searchable web interface. At the same time, it provides the records with safekeeping in a trusted preservation environment.
The first phase of the Spartan Archive project, a digital archive for records from MSU's Office of the Registrar, was funded by a grant from the National Historical Publications and Records Commission (NHPRC).
In the second phase, the previously printed Faculty and Staff Directory, Salary Rate of Faculty and Staff; and MSU Budgets, were added. The Faculty and Staff Directory is derived from the MSU Data Warehouse and populated by many MSU sources, including MSU Human Resources. The Salary Rate of Faculty and Staff and MSU Budgets are obtained from the MSU Office of Planning and Budgets.
Access to the historical Faculty/Staff Directories is only available with a MSU Net login or at the University Archives Reading Room. Access to historical Student Directory information (through 2007) is available in the University Archives Reading Room at Conrad Hall in paper form or through the Office of the Registrar (517-355-3300).
